Rumors that RIM may allow Android apps to run on the BlackBerry PlayBook have been floating around for a few weeks, but, a recent article in BusinessWeek paints a different picture of how the PlayBook will do so. Initially it was thought that RIM would use Dalvik VM as a Java virutal machine, the same VM used in Android. BusinessWeek sources, however, claim that RIM will actually build its own software component to add to the QNX operating system and that it may be available for the BlackBerry PlayBook in the second half of this year.
